Update: Modifications to Standings Setup

Changes have been made to the Standings section where point values and tie-breaker values are set. These changes provide more control by the user. Originally, the system set a max of 3 for goals and tie-breakers. Now, it is flexible and you can enter any number you need for limiting the number of goals per game for tie-breakers and points (these numbers can be different if needed). Please go to the Knowledge Base (accessed by clicking Support Center from the admin home screen) and do a search for Setting Up Your Standings. A description of each item can be found within this solution.

Improvements to Tournament Broadcast Email

Some minor improvements have been made to the Broadcast Email feature for tournaments and leagues that accept applications. Initially, when a broadcast email is created the system will automatically set the send date/time to one hour in the future. It will no longer be set to midnight of that day and sent out immediately if the time is not changed to the future. Second, once a broadcast email is created and sent the system will clear out all of the specs. This is important because it will decrease the chance that the browser will resubmit the email if the submit button is accidentally hit more than once.

It is important to remember NOT to hit the back button once a broadcast email is created and sent. Hitting the back button and saving it could cause the browser to send the email again. If you want to make changes, cancel the first broadcast email, copy the information, and create a new broadcast email.

Age now available as an export item

The player's age is now available as an export item via the Export Players feature in our online registration system. It is calculated using the current date and the player’s age. This means you always get the player's current age as of the date you execute your export.

Registration Update

Demosphere is pleased to release the newly redesigned online registration solution. These design improvements will automatically replace the old system effective December 29th, 2008. There are many enhancements and new features included in this redesign. Some of the features and services that were optional and required a fee are now included at no additional cost. If you had these services in the past you will no longer be charged for them.

Below is a list of improvements and new or newly standardized features that you will have access to.

• Every screen has a new look and feel with the links and messages displayed in a more user-friendly way.
• Every screen has a user bar at the top for easy navigation and access to both our Knowledge Base and user manual.
• The Admin Home screen has been rearranged to provide more logical navigation.
• A new and improved season setup wizard has been added to alleviate confusion when creating a new season.
• Optional scholarship/financial aid feature allows clubs to record and manage scholarship players. Activate the Scholarship feature via Registration Setup. Once activated, any player requesting a scholarship is reviewed by the administrator and may be approved based on your club's requirements similar to the Update Payments by Check option. A supplementary reporting feature is also included.
• New Registration Setup errors detection feature. Simply input your test/example player who can't register for a specific program and the system will determine what is preventing the player from registering.
• The optional KidSafe/background check feature of the system that was previously $0.50 per application is now included at no additional cost. Activate and setup the background check feature via Registration Setup.
• Demosphere's optional Donation-Only system that previously required an annual fee is now included for free and can be accessed via Registration Setup. This feature allows you to place a link on your website whereby any person can make a donation to your club via credit card without accessing the player registration system.
