Demosphere Makes New Connections at the WYSA AGM

The Demosphere Team had a productive trip attending the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) AGM last week. The weekend was full of opportunities to connect with current partners and form relationships with new ones. In addition to the Association’s full meeting agenda, the Demosphere team conducted training sessions for WYSA Member Clubs. Topics included Demosphere solutions for setting up programs and seasons, collecting online registration data, managing payments, building custom forms and syncing their data to the State Association.

Demosphere Training Sessions

Additionally, a separate league session was held to dive into Demosphere’s robust scheduling tools for managing fields and permits, game and blackout dates, setting up division structures, generating game schedules and managing scores/stats and standings. Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA), a new partner utilizing Demosphere’s league solutions, was in attendance. MAYSA shared their excitement and feedback over their use of the Demosphere platform to build their Spring schedules. They also shared positive remarks with the group about the service they’ve received from our team thus far.

Demosphere’s Dannelle Lewandowski ran into her former USSF License B Instructor, Jim Launder. Jim is the WYSA Director of Coaching – small world!

Hall of Fame BanquetWYSA

Especially relevant to the weekend’s activities was the Annual Hall of Fame banquet. Several members of the WYSA family were recognized for their contributions to soccer in the state of Wisconsin. Our team was honored to have been part of the recognition to honor the recipients and we look forward to many more years of success from WYSA.

Demosphere Attends United Soccer Coaches Convention in Philly!

The Demosphere Team had another phenomenal experience attending the annual United Soccer Coaches Convention. This year’s event was held at the Philadelphia Convention Center. The convention has been billed “the World’s Largest Annual Gathering of Soccer Coaches and Administrators”. This year over ten thousand participants attended, representing everything from grassroots organizations to Professional leaders in the soccer community.

The event offers a plethora of educational opportunities for coaches like classroom sessions and live field demonstrations. Additionally, there are plenty of networking opportunities, awards ceremonies, and small group focus sessions.  Furthermore, the annual draft for both the NWSL and MLS take place during the week of the convention.

U.S. Soccer Presidential Candidates

Most noteworthy this year was the impending U.S. Soccer Presidential election next month. Seven of the eight candidates held presentation sessions to share their ideas with attendees for taking soccer to the next level. Votes will be cast on Feb.10, 2017. (Read more about the candidates and the election process).

Exhibit Hall

Throughout the week, attendees staggered through the massive exhibit hall, packed with more than 300 exhibitors. Organizations promoted products and services ranging from sporting goods and merchandise, player development programs and sports tours, consulting services, health and safety and a wide range of sports technology solutions. The Demosphere team worked hard to get setup in time for the grand opening on Thursday evening.

The Demosphere Booth

Twelve members of the Demosphere team attended the convention this year. Our team enjoyed making connections with old friends and new, elevating existing member solutions and sharing the Demosphere story with potential new partners. DC SCORES Wins Big at United Expressions Benefit

Demosphere’s Kris Baker proudly attended the United Expressions benefit event this week, gathering for a special evening to bring art and soccer together in support of DC SCORES.

The DC chapter of America Scores is a non-profit organization which serves kids in need through programs that build confidence and skills to succeed on the playing field, in the classroom, and in life. Through a unique combination of soccer, poetry/spoken word, and service-learning, the organization helps over 2,200 kids in 55 schools develop into healthy teens and young adults.

The evening, which took place at the Hyphen Galley in DC, was well attended by members of DC United, DC SCORES, and friends and family of artists John Brendan Guinan and DC United’s Head Coach, Ben Olsen. Both artists graciously donated several pieces of artwork, with proceeds going toward DC SCORES in anticipation of contributing to a meaningful difference in thousands of kids’ lives.

Several DC SCORES members performed original poetry for the crowd in between mingling with the artists, DC United players, browsing works of art and enjoying the delicious food donated by Mindful Restaurant Group. It was truly an amazing evening bringing two seemingly uncommon worlds together: Soccer and Art.

Demosphere is extremely proud to be a supporter of DC SCORES to help the local community in support of the development of our youth through soccer, poetry, leadership and more. We encourage you to consider contributing to the organization, or to a similar affiliate in your area. If you have a similar organization in your area that you’d like to share, please post your comments below.

Part of Demosphere’s mission involves providing continuous support of the youth sports community, which we have been contributing since our beginning almost 27 years ago. Our goal in this realm is to help build community connections by sharing ideas and investing in the leaders of tomorrow.
